From Mt. Everest’s peaks to Antarctic icebergs, Suunto’s watches have accompanied adventurers to the world’s wildest places. Our mission is to equip and inspire those who seek to conquer mountains, oceans, and trails—both physically and mentally.
For 80 years, Suunto has led the way in sports watch design and innovation from our Finnish factory. We are renowned for original design, functionality, and reliability in extreme environments. Our sports watches, heart rate monitors, compasses, and dive computers use advanced algorithms for safe and precise exploration.
Suunto’s journey began in 1936 with Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish engineer who invented a more accurate liquid-filled compass. This innovation was just the start. In 1965, our field compass proved reliable underwater, leading to our first dive compass and, in 1987, our groundbreaking dive computer. This revolutionised diving, making it safer and more accessible.
In the 1990s, the Suunto Vector introduced the ‘ABC’ functions—altimeter, barometer, and compass—setting a new standard in sports watches. Its iconic design and functionality made it a top choice for adventurers and kept it in production for over 15 years.
